The enemy of our souls always wants us to look backward by thinking upon previous wounds. But we have the mind of Christ and must meditate on His love for us and the victory that has been won at the cross. Our flesh nature may be manifesting but God has given us the victory over our flesh through His Son Jesus! When we choose to surender to the mind of Christ through the Holy Spirit, we are choosing to take our thoughts captive!

“5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.“
So I am learning the only access that the enemy has is through our minds and then he can try to access our hearts. But our hearts belong to Jesus and daily I choose to humble my heart and cry out to Him, “I need you God! I need you Jesus, Holy Spirit, Daddy God. I can do nothing without you!” This is a daily walk and choice. But we are not alone because His Holy Spirit is with us and wants to help us.
The word says resist the devil, the accuser and he has to flee. He has no more rights. He has been completly defeated!! So when when out of the blue I get a negative thought I don’t have to recieve any of it. I am completely free just to recieve the thoughts of heaven and feast on Daddy God’s love and goodness for me and ALL of His creation. God is good and He loves us despite our weaknesses, failures and mistakes!

“18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.“
When I have repented, surrendered, turned from all sin including pride which is in our flesh, I am in right standing with God and don’t have to recieve condemnation or the voice of the accuser. We can go into Christ because He takes ALL of our failures and gives us His life which is perfect Love!

It is only through His Holy Spirit we can do this! This is where the battle is won, in our minds!

Taking our thoughts captive to Christ is how we guard our hearts!
