Jesus

This Christmas as you prepare to be with family and friends think upon Jesus and who He is. His name is so powerful!

Ask the Holy Spirit for a fresh revelation of His name and who He is in your life. Many could not see Jesus even when He was born. Many times the cares of this world keep us from truly discerning who He is. Just like in the bible times when Mary the mother of Jesus was called to carry Jesus, just barely a teenager herself, into the world.

Many did not believe Mary

Matthew 1:18-25 New International Version (NIV)

Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[d] (which means “God with us”).

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[c] because he will save his people from their sins.”

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[a]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[b] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

Joesph her fiance was almost totally distraught because his fiance was pregnant. He was about to disown her as his bride because this would have culturally been the right thing to do but Holy Spirit had a purpose and a focus to teach the world.

How many times have we been willing to almost disown the Son of God in our own lives? It is a daily choice to say Yes to Jesus. If we do not fill our hearts and minds with the Holy Spirit the enemy will try to fill it with his lies.

Being passive in our walk with God is a very subtle way that we without knowing it are making a choice to disown the Son of God. The enemy is sneaky and he knows all the tactics to distract us. We are giving our will over to the evil one when we are passive.

Joesph was not passive. He recieved instruction from the angel of the Lord and took Mary home to be his wife. This husband and wife relationship demonstrated through Joesph and Mary is a picture of the love relationship of the Son of God for His Bride which is us!
