“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
Galatians 5:24
I was pondering this verse the other day and thinking upon Jesus Christ and who He really is in me and for me! What does it mean to crucify the flesh with the affections and lusts?Lately I have had a deep hunger to really know Jesus and I was meditating on what in my flesh stops me from seeing Jesus in my life?
Sometimes I am not aware how selfish and self focused I can be. I am realizing that apart from Christ dwells no good thing in my flesh and that is ALWAYS! Romans 7:18 King James Version (KJV)
“18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.”
A prayer:
In my own stength, flesh, I am unable to choose Christ. Come Holy Spirit and cleanse my heart. Heal it, and remove all my self focus to be God focused! When I am all about you, I know you-“I AM” and you will have room to live in me. Exodus 3:14 King James Version (KJV)
“14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.”
So when I am focused on God the great “I AM”, I won’t have to focus on who I am, cause Galatians 2:20 says, I have been crucified with Christ no longer I that live but CHRIST!”
Christ is apart of the God head. John 1 says in the beginning was the Word and the word was with God and the word was God! If the name for God is also “I AM” then I choose to take on the mind of Christ which is “I AM” living and ruling in my mind and therefore I know who I am- Galatians 2:20. Any thought that comes against that truth, I dont recieve or accept because my identity is Christ!
I surrender ALL my gifts, dreams, talents, personality, family, to ALLow Him and His family to be my identity, not my feelings! I now only accept His truth that says “I AM” apart of His family! God can not reject himself and say Christ you are not apart of me!
“No longer I that live but Christ” I have to believe this and only speak His truth- I BELONG because Christ lives in me. When I truly believe, this will then manifest in the narural!
